Tampa Bay Regional Planning Council
The tougher challenges of the 21st century require regional thinkers, conveners, and problem solvers. Since 1962, the Tampa Bay Regional Planning Council has brought together local governments and gubernatorial appointees to coordinate planning for the Region’s future. TBRPC provides a venue for analyzing issues, resolving problems, and sharing solutions among the jurisdictions in Citrus, Hernando, Hillsborough, Manatee, Pasco and Pinellas Counties. TBRPC is one of ten regional planning councils in Florida.
TBRPC’s duties include:
Emergency preparedness planning
Hurricane evacuation and recovery planning
Brian Ellis, Disaster Recovery Coordinator
The U.S. Department of Commerce's Economic Development Administration (EDA) awarded a grant to support a disaster recovery coordinator that works to support economic recovery efforts in Florida in the wake of Hurricane Irma.
Disaster Recovery Coordinators for each locality support enhanced recovery efforts by helping coordinate the efforts of local governments, economic development organizations, and individual business.
